The gang's weeklong backpack this year was Plan C after the Beartooths were flooded and the Selway was going to be too hot.  We settled on a high route through the southern section of the Eagle Cap Wilderness and it was great.  A short car shuttle allowed us to traverse some uncrowded and highly scenic lake basins and passes.  It had been twenty-five years since our last long Eagle Cap trip and it did not disappoint.  We have some additional trips in mind for this area and will not wait as long to return this time.
