ONDA weekend

Old barn under the Palisades at John Day Fossil Beds' Clarno Unit

This past weekend was the annual Oregon Natural Desert Association members meeting and work party at the Hancock Field Station in Clarno, Oregon.  A beautiful weekend in a beautiful place with great people.  Maria, William, and I had a wonderful time.  We worked hard and played hard too.  It is so great for William to be able to roam around the field station and explore the high desert that I love so much.

Off to Maui

We spent spring break in Hawaii.  It was a very relaxing week of beaches and Mai Tais.  Lots of sun, snorkeling, and boogie boarding.  For those of us enduring a west-side Pacific Northwest winter, Hawaii is almost a requirement.  I am ready for spring now.

Ski trip to Whistler

Lots of catching up to do.  Last month we went skiing at Whistler for a week.  This was after Maria spent a week in New York with her mother and before we went to Maui for spring break.  It was our first time skiing at Whistler and I now know what all the fuss is about.  What an amazing area.  Great mountains, great town, and really fun to be there right after the Olympics.
