Back on a river

The Grand Ronde River just below its confluence with the Wallowa

It has been 14 years since I was on a multi-day river trip. Too long. With William now old enough and a strong swimmer, we decided to get back on a raft and paddle some white water with friends. The Wallowa River at Minam State Park was our put-in, we then floated to the Grand Ronde and followed it all the way to Heller Bar on the Snake - 91 miles in 4 days. Beautiful weather, fast and high water, great scenery, gourmet food, and good friends made for
a terrific trip. Why did I wait so long? We'll be back.
