Tygh Valley

Springtime in Tygh Valley

Our spring ONDA Board meeting was in Tygh Valley this year.  It had been many years (decades?) since I last visited this area.  Beautiful oak savannah, lush fields, great history and views.  I'll put this on my need-to-visit-again-soon list for sure.

South Santiam River - House Rock CG

Ken's new camper at House Rock CG

After many trips up to Washington over the past few months, I finally had a chance to go somewhere new.  House Rock Campground is a great spot to explore a bit of the future Douglas Fir National Monument.  Old growth fir and hemlock abound in this temperate rainforest spot.  Heavy rains and a wet late spring made for some raging streams and perfect western Cascades wood walks.
