Coupeville, Washington

Coupeville, Penn Cove, and Mt Baker

Maria and I spent Thanksgiving, 2020 on Whidbey Island.  We rented a small place in Coupeville and explored the island from there.  The weather turned out great so we had plenty of hiking and beach combing time.  Deception Pass State Park was a highlight, including a couple of trails I have not yet done.  As always, plenty of crowds in this popular spot, but it was well worth it.

McCall and Donnelly Idaho - Shoulder Season

Our cabin in Tamarack Resort - the snow has arrived!

Maria and I spent a relaxing five nights out near Donnelly, Idaho at a cabin in the Tamarack Resort.  It was full on shoulder season - the place was dead - which was perfect for this Covid19 surge (Idaho has been one of the poster children for how to not manage a pandemic).  Mostly we spent our time in Tamarack Resort, a high end ski-in, ski-out resort that is still being built, but we did manage to explore McCall, Ponderosa State Park, Upper Payette Lake, and the Burgdorf area before the weather changed abruptly.
