Quinn Creek

Falls on Quinn Creek - end of paddling

I finally made it up the inlet stream of Hosmer Lake to the low falls of Quinn Creek.  We were camped at Hosmer and took advantage of an early paddle to avoid the crowds, which would make this a difficult paddle since it is narrow and shallow and difficult enough to navigate without other boats coming at you.

Roaming around in the Blue Mountains

Along the North Fork John Day, entering the wilderness

As I was "between jobs", Maria and I took Lowell out on a road trip.  It was a nice, tight loop through the Blue Mountains of Oregon.  We started in the Strawberries, proceeded to the upper Malhuer River, on to the North Fork John Day, and then down through the John Day country.  It was very quiet out there mid week, which was perfect.  Good weather and great camps.  Always fun to spend time in the camper out on the east side!
