After spending too much time over the winter "exploring" Oregon in Google Earth, we decided to get out and set foot in some actual terra incognito. We chose the East Lava Flow north of Christmas Valley. Very intriguing to look at virtually and even better in person. This is a BLM wilderness study area and after exploring the area I have to wonder why they are still studying it - make it a damn wilderness! Great area with very few signs of human incursion.
