Backpacking in the Sawtooths

In mid July, my brother, myself, and a friend enjoyed a five night backpacking trip through the heart of Idaho's Sawtooth Range. Braced for an onslaught of crowds and mosquitoes, we found none, only beautiful scenery, ice cold swimming waters, blue skies, and sunshine.

We started our trip with a boat ride to the end of Redfish Lake and concluded the visit at Pettit Lake.  In between we rambled around the southeastern corner of the Sawtooth Wildnerness.  Not a huge area, at least in designated wilderness, but well worth exploring.  Below is a a map showing our route:
