Road trip!

Along the Imnaha River

Ken, Evan, and I pointed the hood east and set off for a weekend road trip through eastern Oregon.  We spent a night in Bend, then on through Post, Paulina, Izee, Suplee, John Day, Sumpter Valley, Baker City, Enterprise (for the night) and on to Imnaha and a hike through the lower Imnaha Canyon to the Snake River.  Great times.  Disturbingly little snow out there though for February.

Winter camping on the Oregon coast

At South Beach

January is often the best month at the Oregon coast.  No crowds and surprisingly nice weather, if you are lucky.  We got lucky in January and spent a weekend near Newport at South Beach State Park.  No wind, clear skies, sunshine, and moderate crowds.  Very nice.
