September in the PNW

Spent the past weekend at Crater Lake National Park. We seldom travel here due to the perceived crowds, but early September offers a wonderful opportunity to experience this truly remarkable spectacle without having to share it with many others. For the first time ever I took the boat tour and hiked around Wizard Island. This is by far the best way to see and appreciate the caldera and its lake. An amazing place.
