Fall is here

Enjoying the sunshine along the Metolius River

Maria and I decided to go for a hike up in the Cascades,  Driving up from Bend we left the sunshine and entered the clouds stacked up along the crest.  We did the hike, the Matthieu Lakes loop, in 43 degree weather with a light rain falling and no views.  Still, it was nice to be up in the hills and the forest felt like it was happily sucking in the moisture.  After returning to the trailhead we decided it would be better to enjoy lunch in the sun so we headed to the Metolius.  Gotta love the rain shadow!
