Snow Camping with William and Ken

Three Fingered Jack in sunset light

I have wanted to take William on a winter camping trip for a couple of years now and finally made it happen.  My brother, William, and I snowshoed out of Santiam Snow Park just far enough out to get away from the road and find some good snow to dig in.  We had forgotten how long it takes to dig a snow cave - next time we'll opt for a four-season tent and leave more time for exploring.  We were treated to a stunning sunset and sunrise, which made all of the work well worth it.
