| In mid July I went over to Bend on my own and went on a snowy day hike up to Green Lakes. It had been almost 30 years since I was last here. Beautiful hike up a tumbling creek to this still snowed in lakes basin between the sisters and Broken Top. I climbed up on the flanks of Broken Top for an amazingly clear view all the way north to Mt Rainier. Gorgeous day. Sparks lake was a side trip on the way home. I decided then and there that I needed to bring my kayak here next time - which I did. Excellent paddling! | | |
