January Camping

Mt Jefferson
We had a four-day weekend so, naturally, we left town.  Our dilemma was; Redwoods or desert?  I'd been watching the NWS forecasts all week and it slowly became clear that the northern California coast was going to get hit by a pretty good storm so we went east.  Cove Palisades State Park at Lake Billy Chinook was our destination since it looked to be a bit drier.  It was, generally, pretty nice - considering that it was mid-January.  We did a nice hike up on the bluffs one day and drove out to the Metolius arm of the reservoir another.  On the drive home we stopped in Bend for lunch.  A nice weekend.
