The Lost Forest had been off my list of places to go for years.  With the OHV usage in the Christmas Valley area off the charts the place was ruined - a sacrifice zone.  But as a Plan B in the dead of winter when we didn't have enough daylight for Plan A (a trip to Burma Rim) I found myself pleasantly surprised.  We had the Lost Forest to ourselves and, once inside the Lost Forest a distance, the place was not as destroyed as I had feared.  I certainly will not come here in the summer, but off season it is still a magical spot.  I am happy to have the Lost Forest, one of my favorite Oregon places back in the 1980's, back again.
