A wander around the edges of the PNW

Lake McDonald, Glacier National Park, Montana

I just returned from a three+ week road trip that took me and my family through eastern Oregon, central Idaho (Stanley Basin-Sawtooths), Grand Teton, Yellowstone, Glacier, north Idaho, Eastern Washington, Seattle, and back home. Will post photos when I have sorted through them. After a heavy snow year in the northwestern mountains and quite a bit of late spring rain, rivers and lakes were high and the landscape was very green. Boise continues to boom. Wolves are moving into eastern Oregon. Western Montana is still a "best place", but while its small cities (Bozeman, Helena, Kalispell, Whitefish) are fabulous at their downtown core, the sprawl around them is pretty nasty. Where did I cross into and out of the Pacific Northwest?
